5 Ironing Board Solutions, Oh My!

SOLUTION #1: SHELF MOUNTED IRONING BOARD

For compact storage and easy access, this shelf mounted ironing board stores in the closet or laundry room on a 24″ wide by 14″ deep (at least) fixed shelf.    To use, simply slide out and unfold on its heavy duty steel ball-bearings.  Rotate the ironing board to a variety of locked positions. 38″ length in open position.

Very compact solution for the ‘infrequent ironer’.

SOLUTION #2: IRON AWAY

The Iron-Away provides you with a convenient, durable, fold-out ironing board in one compact, built-in cabinet.  Setting up and putting it away is as easy as opening and closing a door. It is 42″ in length.  Door is approximately 21″ wide.

This is the best option for the serious ironer who has appropriate wall space for mounting this unit.

 SOLUTION # 3: TILT-OUT IRONING BOARD

The Tilt-Out Ironing Board occupies 5 inches of closet space.  It is 14″ wide and requires at least a 14″ deep partition to mount on.  It easily tilts out, slides outward and turns over for a flat surface that locks in place.  Length of ironing board is 40″.  Distance from wall to end of ironing board when extended is 60″.

If you are at the beginning stages of designing your new closet and are one of those ‘closet ironers’ and have adequate space, choose this.  It is a larger ‘in closet’ option compared to Solution #1 .

SOLUTION # 4 & 5: PULL OUT IRONING BOARDS*

*Regular and Industrial

These uniquely designed expandable frames mount easily in a closet between panels or in a drawer between 14 1/4″ and 21 ” wide and 16″ deep.  Simply open until the gravity lock engages, unfold the board and you are ready to iron.  The regular board is approximately 12″ wide & 30″ long.

The industrial board is 38″ long and requires a cabinet depth of at least 20″. This is an even more compact option for the ‘closet ironer’.  It’s unfolded length is 30″ compared with the 38″ length of Option #1: Shelf Mounted Ironing Board.
